Ritchie Community Receives A New Library

The Department of Roads and Public Works is proud to announce that the Ritchie Library is complete. In the near future members of the community specifically scholars will be able to benefit from library services. The department constructed the library on behalf of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture.

The construction work on the library was completed during August 2017. A total of 35 job opportunities have been created during the construction of the facility. The project cost amounted to approximately R 3.9 million.

The facility will be listed on the Asset Register for all government buildings kept at the Department of Roads and Public Works, but the building has been handed over to the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture who will be responsible for the operationalisation thereof.

The department also completed the construction of libraries in Kamassies, Askham and Petrusville. The construction of libraries in Carolusberg, Tsineng, Warrenton, Upington and Kuruman is in progress. The department continues to excel in its mandate to build public amenities to create a better life for all in the province.
