Fleet Entity Team Charts A United Path At Mini-Strategic Planning Session

The Department’s Fleet Management team convened in Groblershoop on 16 to 17

September 2025 for a two-day mini-strategic planning and teambuilding session. The

gathering provided a platform for colleagues to reflect on their work environment, address

operational challenges, and strengthen team cohesion.

The purpose of the mini-strategic planning session was to create a focused platform where

management and staff can collectively reflect on operational challenges, review progress,

and align priorities with broader departmental goals. It enabled the team to identify gaps,

strengthen communication, and develop practical strategies to improve efficiency,

accountability, and service delivery.

Beyond planning, the session fostered teamwork, encouraged innovation, and reinforced a

shared vision, ensured that the fleet unit remained responsive, sustainable, and well-

positioned to support government’s mandate. Throughout the engagements, staff members

spoke candidly about issues affecting their daily responsibilities and appealed for

management’s support in finding sustainable solutions.

Acting CEO, Mr. Vuyani Mhlauli, attentively received these concerns and reaffirmed

management’s commitment to fostering an enabling and supportive workplace. The second

day culminated in dynamic teambuilding activities that encouraged collaboration, unity, and

renewed purpose.

The evening’s highlight was a memorable gala dinner, which also served as a heartfelt

farewell to two long-serving members of the Fleet Management team:

 Mr. Isaacs, who dedicated an exceptional 42 years of service to the Department.

 Mr. Maggerman, who contributed an outstanding 32 years of unwavering commitment.

In his address, Acting CEO, Mr. Mhlauli, expressed deep gratitude to the retirees for their

dedication, loyalty, and invaluable contributions. “Your service has set a benchmark of

excellence that will continue to inspire generations of colleagues,” he remarked. It concluded

on a high note—leaving the team motivated, united, and ready to drive continued success.
